G-1: GRADE REPORTING

Procedure:

Grade reporting deadlines are established so that all post-semester processes such as graduation, academic progress and other important reporting can be completed in a timely manner.

Faculty must enter grades through the Web based grading services offered through their Faculty Center in the student information system. To use this service, the faculty member must have successfully completed the FERPA quiz and have set up two-factor authentication.

The Office of the University Registrar is responsible for distributing grade reporting instructions to the faculty, academic department, college, and campus offices. Faculty will be notified through use of the Penn State e-mail system when their course is ready to be graded. Courses may be graded starting the day following the defined calendar end-date of the course. Grades are to be recorded in the student information system no later than two business days after the final examination or final course assessment.
