L-4: COMPLETION OF DEGREE REQUIREMENTS AT OTHER INSTITUTIONS

Procedures:

A student planning to graduate with credits from another institution(s) should review all requirements for transferring credits to Penn State.

  1. Students planning to take courses at another institution should use the transfer credit tool and consult with their academic adviser prior to registering for the course to determine whether the course will transfer to Penn State and will meet the student's degree requirement. For courses for which no Penn State evaluation exists, the student must submit a current syllabus into the course substitutions and reviews portal to initiate a formal review.
  2. The student must submit the transferred credits and accompanying official documents from other institutions to the Admissions Office. These documents must be received at least 30 days prior to the semester in which the student expects to graduate. Exceptions to this deadline must be approved by the College (L-2 Degree Checking).
