The Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence is Penn State’s university-wide teaching center. Our faculty and graduate consultants work with instructors, graduate students, and administrators at all campuses to address any aspect of teaching and learning. We do this through consultations with individuals or groups, workshops, short courses, Teaching Communities, and Teaching and Learning Scholarship. Our work is collaborative and confidential. We provide grants in support of teaching innovation, equity and inclusion, and teaching scholarship.
Key responsibilities of this office include:
- advance effective course design, teaching methods, and assessments
- conduct teaching and learning scholarship in collaboration with faculty and students
- administer computer-based testing for Penn State courses in the Pollock Testing Center
- administer the Student Educational Experience Questionnaire (SEEQ) in all Penn State courses
- oversee the University undergraduate teaching award process
