Penn State Chaiken Center for Student Success

Launched in 2024, the Penn State Chaiken Center for Student Success offers proactive support and tailored interventions to help undergraduate students develop essential skills, navigate academic transitions, and develop a sense of belonging on campus. Using a data-informed and adaptive approach, the center staff works to ensure students have access to the resources and opportunities they need to persist, overcome challenges, and reach their full potential.

Key responsibilities of this office include:

  • oversee the Academic Success Coaching program at the University Park campus
  • create and distribute college success tools and resources
  • oversee success-oriented programming such as Peer Success Coaching, Accountability Groups, and college success workshops
  • lead first-generation student success efforts, including university-wide community building events and the first-gen advisory council
  • oversee the LEAP summer start experiences
  • administer and award the Summer Success Scholarship
  • provide access to free, basic school supplies through the School Supplies for Student Success program
