Strategic Plan Implementation Committees

The nine UE Strategic Plan Implementation Committees, drawn mostly from UE staff who expressed interest or passion around one or more plan objectives, are intended to coordinate, capture, and elevate the work around their objective(s) as well as identify any gaps or barriers to achieving the goals. It is not their task alone to do work—UE is collectively responsible and accountable for the plan—although many members are involved regularly in the work related to the objectives they are supporting.  

Each implementation committee will:

  • Step 1: Review and confirm/adjust goals and metrics as a committee.
  • Step 2: Discuss if the committee has the right people, make additional invitations as needed. *Note: we expect to invite additional committee members needed as the work becomes better defined.
  • Identify units in UE that actively contribute to the objectives and determine how to include those contributions if not directly represented.
  • Identify partners across Penn State with whom UE units regularly collaborate in this work to better understand and reflect the landscape.
  • Develop a mechanism to collect and summarize contributions from relevant units.
  • Identify areas that may need additional attention to achieve the objectives and recommend actions to the sponsoring AVP.
  • Report progress regularly to the sponsoring AVP and to the broader UE community as requested.
